A KOTOBUKIYA Japanese Import!
Following on the amazing Fine Art Statues celebrating the titular hero of the first Iron Man film comes the second of two great additions from the upcoming Iron Man 2. Hot on the heels of the Iron Man Mark VI statue is Tony Stark's ally James Rhodes in the armor known as WAR MACHINE! Newcomer to the franchise Don Cheadle will be playing the character alongside Robert Downey, Jr.'s Tony Stark. A longtime friend of Stark's, James Rhodes was a U.S. Air Force Lieutenant Colonel working for the State Department as a liaison to Stark Industries in its arms development capacity. Beyond his official role, Rhodes is a good friend of the eccentric billionaire and one of the few people Stark can count on in an emergency. Immediately recognizing the versatility and power (not to mention fun) of the Iron Man suits, Rhodes was destined to don a suit of his own.
In Iron Man 2 Rhodes gets his wish when Stark creates a special armor suit for him that focuses on heavy weaponry. The War Machine armor is bulkier than the Iron Man suits, with large armor plates and reinforced sections on the hips, arms, and torso. Its offensive capacity is obvious from the massive gatling-style gun cannon on its left shoulder, as well as the twin submachine guns mounted on its forearms. War Machine is poised in a martial stance, bringing his right forearm gun to bear as the shoulder cannon tracks additional targets. Unlike the resplendent red-and-gold of Stark's advanced suits, War Machine is much more somber in sleek, no-nonsense black-and-silver with red headlights around the eyes and chest-mounted arc reactor.
Sculpted by Erick Sosa, War Machine stands nearly 11 2/3" tall atop a cylindrical Repulsor Transmitter base in matching colors. Improving on the previous Iron Man Fine Art Statues, War Machine has upgraded LED lights in the eyes, chest, fists, and base! Each ARTFX Statue is constructed of high-quality PVC.
Don't miss out on one of the most highly anticipated armor suits from Iron Man 2, and the perfect complement to the Iron Man Mark VI Fine Art Statue!
